Instead, secure the wall brackets to the finished wall material just above the acrylic wall sets. • Unless you encounter a stud, each screw must be secured to the wall using an anchor. • When determining the height for the shower rod, take into consideration the length of the shower curtain with hooks. • Rod may be shortened by cutting equal amounts from each end.
• For best fit, shower curtain should be 6" - 12" wider than shower rod. | | | For 60" Standard Tub | | | Mount rod approximately 3" inside the point a straight rod is normally mounted. The midpoint of the rod should extend several inches past the outside rim of the tub. | | | | | | For 60" Oval Tub | | | Depending upon tub model, mount rod between 6" and 8" from center line of the tub. The middle portion of the rod should curve just outside the contour of the tub. | | | | | | Step 1 | | | Review the Curved Shower Rod Mounting Instructions above to determine proper rod placement. | | | | | | Step 2 | | | Assemble curved shower rod. Hand-tighten remaining screws. Do not use set screws at this time. | | | | | | Step 3 | | | Have someone help you measure. Hold rod up to desired position, one person at each end, to check height and location. Making sure that rod is level, use a pencil to lightly score marks at the top and bottom of the wall plate. Set the rod down. | | | | | | Step 4 | | | Remove the retaining screws. Separate the wall brackets from the rod. Leave the swivel connectors on the rod. | | | | | | Step 5 | | | Place the brackets back on the wall at the pencil marks. | | | | | | Step 6 | | | Mark screw holes at 12 and 6 o'clock positions. Set wall brackets aside. | | | | | | Step 7 | | | Using a 1/4" drill bit, drill screw hole as marked. Make sure hole is clear of dust. Tap anchor into hole until flush with surface. Install four anchors unless a hole is on a stud. | | | | | | Step 8 | | | Mount the wall brackets. Screw into anchors through the brackets. | | | | | | Step 9 | | | Place rod, with swivel connectors attached, into wall brackets. Check for levelness. Screw in retaining screws and tighten. | | | | | | Step 10 | | | Adjust rod. Be sure that each end is into connectors far enough for set screw contact. | | | | | | Step 11 | | | Insert and tighten set screws with the Allen wrench. | | | | | | | | | | |
