My girl is finally out of diapers at night, but still has the occasional accident. Her "best friend" and lovie "Bunny" got wet ane night, and now smells quite strongly of urine. I've tried surface washing him with detergent, I've tried spraying him with (natural and child friendly) pet odor remover. It's ameliorate, but now he smells like an unpleasant combination of cleaner and pee. Any ideas? He's never been machine done or dried, and I'd really like to avoid trying that because if he fell apart I'd be sunk! Thanks for your help.

So What Happened?

Thank you all. We washed him on the gentle wheel in a lingerie purse and tossed him in the dryer for a few minutes. Good as new-ish. Thanks so much!

Well, I know y'all're nervous about car washing bunny, what near hand washing in the sink? I have washed my son's puppy repeatedly in the machine and it's fine. I dry it besides! Simply if bunny is showing signs of clothing, try soaking it and letting it dry in the sun. Good luck!

Howdy J.,

I accept been there many times myself. I luckly have had very skilful luck when throwing blimp animals in the washing auto. I apply the gentle bicycle or the soak cycle. so I either leave it outside to broil in the sun or I put information technology in the dryer on the cool setting. I hope this helps, adept luck.

Hi J.
I detest to say it, but I actually doubt anything is going to piece of work except a trip through the washing mashine. I have done all stuffed animals, sneakers, baseball hats...yous name it. I think y'all will exist surprised how nice it will come out. Just put it in the sun to dry out. I accept also gone as far as washing actually "special" stuffed animals in the bathroom tub by hand. For some reason nothing works besides as the washer.

Hi! I accept put stuffed animals through the washing motorcar and include regular detergent and oxyclean. To protect the stuffed animal you could put it in a pillow example or lingerie bag. If that doesn't get the aroma out launder again, only this fourth dimension add together some white vinegar to the wash. Then hang dry out somewhere where your girl doesn't run across Bunny to brand sure it'south completely dry. I've washed my daughters' (four yrs & 3yrs former) lovies MANY times and they are withal ok.
Skilful luck!

Most of the stuffed animals are quite durable when put into a washing machine. You could use gentle cycle .
Attempt pouring vinegar into the wash h2o and drying the bunny in the sun.

I completely machine launder my children's lovey blimp animals on a regular basis. DO NOT put them in the dryer!! Use a common cold h2o bike, on gentle if you prefer- but I e'er merely apply the normal cycle.
When my 4 y/o had an accident in bed and her turtle got moisture, I saturated him with that "Kids and Pets" enzymatic product from Walmart, let him soak for about 15 mins and and then tossed him in the washer with the moisture sheets. When I took him out I set him in a sunny window to dry, and he was set to go past that nighttime. No bug!
Stuffed animals can be washed in the washer- just not the dryer.

I've never had to try this myself on clothing or stuffed animals, but vinegar is supposed to neutralize urine. I have used a vinegar/water spray in our beast cages and it works. I'd endeavor washing with a 25/l vinegar/h2o mix and run into how it might helps. The vinegar stinks at outset, but then that olfactory property goes away. Actually, I'd probably toss it in a pillowcase and throw a cup of vinegar in the washing machine along with the detergent, and wash it that way.

Howdy J., I can guarantee that Shaklee'southward non-toxic laundry detergent volition get rid of the urine and other odors safely. If you are reluctant to put the bunny in the washing machine (I have washed many stuffed animals in the washer & put them in the dryer with no problems), apply Shaklee's detergent in h2o in your laundry sink - let information technology soak for about 15 minutes, scrub information technology a lilliputian, let the water out and rinse it well under the faucet and wring in out gently. Then throw it in the dryer with a couple of towels. Information technology should be fine. Where do y'all live? I am in Georgetown and will be happy to give you a sample to attempt if you are nearby and would similar information technology. But let me know - E. Taft ###-###-#### [e-mail protected]____.com

Try giving the bunny a "bath" in baking soda. Put him in a cipher top pocketbook with some baking soda. Toss information technology around so he gets good and covered with the stuff, and let information technology sit down for a few hours. As long equally you can seeing the importance of the bunny and then simply dust him off skilful when he comes out. The problem is probably deep in the fibers of the bunny though. You could also try just soaking him in h2o with a mild detergent (like woolite) and letting him dry.

Hope that helps.

Hello J.! I have 2 suggestions. I agree with the other moms that perhaps the washing automobile might work but fine. Likewise, I THINK your child might be over the eating phase...if you're adequately certain your children won't exist chewing on the bunny, I establish that repeated applications (WITHOUT RINSING EVEN!!!) :D of Bissell Pet Pro (or Pro Pet? it'southward a pink-labeled, double-barreled aluminum can, found by the vacuums in Walmart) worked to get male true cat urine out of my daughter's hiking haversack. I SWEAR by this stuff now!!! I just fix the backpack exterior for about 10 days in South Carolina this by winter and sprayed it once or twice a day, and let it dry, and now there is NO ODOR. I promise you, I would have thrown that affair away a long time ago if there were any trace of the smell left! But you lot might just stick to the washing auto outset. ;)

Best of luck,
K.

You tin use a great product like Sol-u-mel that is a natural deodorizer! Information technology uses the ability of tea tree oil to eliminate odors. I typically use information technology in the wash, just I'm sure if you just spray it on...you'll observe the same fresh results!

Let me know if you would like info. on how to get it! I don't sell it, but practise help people shop for safe products such as these!
